Pomotomo

Pomotomo is a focus app we built as a team for a school project. It uses the Pomodoro technique: you study for a set time and then take a short break.

To make focusing more rewarding, a virtual plant grows with every finished session. A physical buzzer tells you when time is up, so you don't have to keep checking the screen.

I designed the interface in Figma together with a teammate, then worked on the app with the team. We built the website with ASP.NET and C#, and SQLite stores the user accounts and completed focus sessions.

It includes the focus timer, a virtual garden and a statistics page that shows how much time you have spent studying.

The interesting part was connecting the website to a real piece of hardware. The timer has to tell the buzzer when a session is over.

We also linked completed sessions to the plant's growth and the user's statistics, so every part of the app works together.

A working Pomodoro app with focus and break timers, a growing virtual plant, a physical buzzer and progress tracking.

This project was different from my others because something physical was connected to the website. It wasn't only about what happened on the screen.
