Restaurant GEM

I designed everything in Figma and built most of it as a custom WordPress theme with PHP, Bootstrap and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), so the client can update their content on their own.

A coworker helped with the page transitions and animations. I did the rest, from layouts and responsive styling to the WordPress implementation.

I wanted it to feel like more than a restaurant template, so I put a lot of attention into typography, photography and spacing, while keeping the menu and reservation information easy to reach.

Because it is a custom theme, I made sure it works across screen sizes and stays flexible when the client changes content through ACF.

A custom WordPress website that turns my Figma designs into a working site the client can manage. It was also nominated for Site of the Day on Awwwards.

I learned how to take a client project from design through development, build flexible PHP templates and work with a coworker on the finishing details. It let me bring my design and development skills together.
